GRATOSTYL — YouTube channel identity

A mark and a full graphics kit for a channel about old cars. The whole system is built around one image — a car dashboard: a segment display, a speedometer scale and warning lights instead of a plain wordmark.

About the project

GRATOSTYL is a channel about old cars — the good old days. The brand had to say what the channel is about at a glance and work where it lives: on the avatar cropped to a circle, on the banner and under every video.

Instead of a plain wordmark, the whole identity grows out of a car's dashboard. The name lights up on a segment display, a speedometer scale with the needle on 90 runs beneath it, and three warning lights — oil pressure, charging and check engine — carry the accents.

Every file is real curves — text converted to outlines, the marks built from circles and polygons. They open in Illustrator as editable paths, with no raster graphics.

Avatar — composed in a circle

YouTube crops the avatar to a circle anyway, so the mark is composed in a circle, not a square. It stays legible at any size — from 176 px next to a video down to 48 px under a comment.
